Cumberland Valley HS Class of 1997 Reunion

April 25, 2007

10 years already. Wow, I feel so old.

As those in my graduating high school class know, the 5-year was never organized. A few years back I told my buddy Jesse Mason we should do an unofficial one and see who shows, but figured I it wouldn’t compete with this year’s thunder.
Apparently, Pat Romano and John Davies posted plans on MySpace about having the 10-year on October 27 at ABC Brewing Company. My friend Vid Lynch pointed out that a date closer to Thanksgiving would make more sense. I don’t expect those of us in India (like you Cam!) to show, however, I tend to agree with Vid.

While my wife doesn’t see my point in going (since I know where all of my friends are), my best friend Andy Mowery wants to go (assuming Arizona doesn’t call) and he’ll probably drag me out of the Big Apple to go with him.

Anyway, I thought it’d be interesting to see which CV97 grads breathe the fresh air outside of MySpace and see what everyone thinks. If you’re a CV ’97 grad, sound off and leave a comment. Does the date make sense? Are you going or not? Why?

(Boy, this post feels very high school).

XPath in Flash

April 16, 2007

Does anyone else use their blog as their own personal library?
I do, and I don’t know how I forgot to slide this one onto my virtual book shelf, but here’s the official documentation to the undocumented (yet super handy) XPathAPI for Flash (PDF). While Flash only supports a small portion of the XPath standard, this ActionScript class remains immensely valuable for anyone parsing XML in Flash.

Got my Glass

It took a little while, but I finally got my glass. Get the Glass is a pretty impressive campaign … it makes me wonder how much the whole thing cost.

I got to see what I went to see, but it was much more like paying $14 to get over claustrophobia.

Yeah, I guess I should have known that.
